Kopi & Kin began at a marble-topped table in 1972, when our founder's grandfather — everyone called him Lim Ah Gong — pulled his first sock of kopi at a kopitiam three doors down from where we now stand. He roasted his beans the old way, slow and dark with sugar and margarine, and he knew every regular's order before they reached the counter.

Three generations on, we brew both sides of the family. The cotton sock still hangs by the till, pulling the same caramel-edged roast Ah Gong perfected. Beside it sits the slow bar: single origins weighed to the gram, poured by hand, and dialled in every morning before the shutters go up.

The “Kin” is not decoration. We are a shophouse cafe on a street that still knows its neighbours, and we intend to keep it that way — first names at the counter, saucers instead of sleeves, and a seat that is yours for as long as the cup is warm.
